Compression moulding

WHY WORK WITH US

Compression moulding is the process of manufacturing plastic parts by placing the moulding compound in a heated mould, pressure is then applied using a hydraulic press until the compound cures and takes shape of the final desired product as per the mould design.

Compression moulding is a high-volume, high-pressure method suitable for moulding complex, high-strength fiberglass reinforcements. Advanced composite thermoplastics can also be compression moulded with unidirectional tapes, woven fabrics, randomly oriented fiber mat or chopped strands. The advantage of compression moulding is its ability to mold large, fairly intricate parts.

Compression moulding was first developed to manufacture composite parts for metal replacement applications, compression moulding is typically used to make larger flat or moderately curved parts.

Polymers Engineering Pvt Ltd specialises in the manufacturing of highly complex products using compression moulding such as MG3 machine gun butts/stocks, tank ammunition container parts and nose cones.
